DAY 1 & 2 – YOUR ADVENTURE BEGINS
2 Nights in Ruaha National Park
Natural grandeur at Ruaha National Park
The semi-arid savannahs of the Ruaha National Park’s rolling plains are spread with acacias and baobabs and over-hanging forest, and is said to have the highest concentration of African elephants in all of East Africa.
Inside Tanzania’s largest park, the rushing Great Ruaha River and its borders stretching across two flora zones promise an abundance of diverse wildlife. Visitors will be pleased to spot some of the 8,000 elephants and over 570 species of birdlife that call the park home. The dry months offer the most excellent game-viewing opportunities as many of the park’s residents gather near the Great Ruaha and Mzombe rivers for fine dining.
Our Favourite Ruaha Camp
JABALI RIDGE
Jabali Ridge checks all the boxes for travellers seeking a luxurious, boutique wilderness and wildlife experience in East Africa.
Our award-winning camp is perched atop a rocky outcrop, perfectly blending bleached organic woods, African-inspired décor, and the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding landscapes and animals. At the same time, our incredible infinity pool and on-site spa provide the perfect place to relax and gaze over the endless African bush.
Ruaha National Park lies at an utterly unique and diverse crossroads featuring habitats and species from southern and east Africa. Tanzania’s Ruaha National Park offers some of the best walking safaris in Africa, rivalling South Luangwa in Zambia and Mana Pools in Zimbabwe. It showcases a truly unforgettable wilderness experience.
DAY 3 & 4 – CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY TO
2 Nights in Nyerere National Park (Formerly Selous Game Reserve)
Discover the Untouched Landscapes of Nyerere National Park formerly known as Selous Game Reserve.
Selous Game Reserve is known as one of the largest faunal reserves on the globe and one of Africa’s largest protected areas. Located in southern Tanzania, the reserve attracts far less visitors than its northern counterparts.
This—accompanied by its pristine and untouched landscapes—has earned Selous a reputation as one of Africa’s last remaining wildernesses. Relatively undisturbed by humans, Selous’ diverse vegetation includes patches of savannah, riverine forest, and swamp that impose on the predominant miombo woodland. In turn, this diverse habitat accommodates a wide range of fauna and flora. Off-roading is permitted, allowing the full blast of wild majestic adventure.
Our Favourite camp in Selous Reserve
ROHO YA SELOUS
Experience the rugged beauty of Tanzania’s verdant swamps and hills with Roho Ya Selous, an exclusive tented camp set within the quieter part of Selous Game Reserve. Encounter a plethora of species, including the Big 5, African wild dog and Pel’s fishing owl on game drives, walking safari and boat safari. Ideal for honeymooners, family, or even small groups seeking peaceful safari getaways to unspoilt wildlands.
DAY 5 & 6 – CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY TO
2 Nights in Zanzibar Island
The largest and most popular island in the Zanzibar Archipelago, Unguja (or ‘Zanzibar’ as it is more commonly known) is a short flight away from Tanzania and easily accessible from other popular tourist destinations such as the Serengeti National Park, Arusha, and Dar es Salaam.
A more budget-friendly option is to reach the island via a luxury ferry that leaves the mainland. The main island is the most developed in the archipelago and promises an endless list of interesting and relaxing diversions. The historical Stone Town (the main port and commercial centre of the archipelago) is teeming with life and an example of the old and new colliding in bringing this beautiful gem to life.
